Directions: In this section, there is a passage with ten blanks. You are required to select one word for each blank from a list of choices given in a word bank following the passage. Read the passage through carefully before making your choices. Each choice in the bank is identified by a letter. Please mark the corresponding letter for each item on Answer Sheet 2 with a single line through the centre. You may not use any of the words in the bank more than once.
The city of Bath was founded by the Romans almost two thousand years ago. It has been famous for its  26  pleasing architecture and healing thermal springs ever since.
There are three hot springs in Bath; one is the King's Spring, upon which the Roman Baths and a temple were  27  . Afterwards, the spas(矿泉疗养浴场) in Bath continued to go in and out of fashion for more than 150 years until they closed completely. The new Bath Spa, which opened in 2006,  35  modern architecture with the ancient spring, now the New Royal Bath.
