Several factors account for this distribution. In an era that prizes intellectual growth, many parents regard outdoor activities primarily as a channel for stimulating children's minds. Physical health and family bonding, though important, are often taken for granted or pursued through other means, so they receive less attention.
In my view, this narrow emphasis deserves rethinking. Outdoor activities should nourish children as whole persons—strong bodies and warm family ties matter as much as sharp minds. Parents, therefore, ought to value every dimension rather than a single one.
