Robots are no longer the stuff of science fiction; increasingly, they are moving into our factories and our homes. In the foreseeable future, when more and more machines take over tasks once done by people, both industrial production and everyday life will be reshaped. To my mind, this shift will prove a double-edged sword.
On the bright side, the changes will be striking. On the assembly line, tireless robots will weld, sort and package around the clock, lifting efficiency and freeing workers from dull, dangerous jobs. At home, they will vacuum the floors, cook meals and even care for the elderly, giving families more time to relax. Yet every coin has two sides. As machines replace human hands, millions may lose their jobs, and an over-reliance on technology could weaken our own skills, raising thorny ethical questions.
Therefore, I predict that robots will become our capable partners rather than our masters, provided we learn to adapt. If society retrains workers and sets clear rules, this quiet revolution will make life not colder, but far more convenient.
本段落实『趋势开篇亮态度』:用 increasingly, they are moving into our factories and our homes 点出机器人日益普及的趋势,扣住 what will happen;再用 this shift will prove a double-edged sword 亮明双刃剑立场,为全文定调。
On the assembly line... At home... 分述工业与家庭两个场景的便利,正对 in industry as well as people's daily lives;再用 Yet every coin has two sides
I predict that robots will become our capable partners rather than our masters 给出预测,provided / If...
Try to imagine what will happen when more and more robots take the place of human beings,落点在『将会发生什么』,而不是罗列现在有哪些机器人。同时它把场景框死在两处——in industry as well as people's daily lives,即工业生产和日常生活都要写到,只写一面就是漏答。
本题是无特定收信人的短文议论,要求 write a short essay on the use of robots,没有称呼、没有落款。
中心论点:当 more and more robots take the place of human beings 时,无论工业还是日常生活都将被重塑,这既带来巨大便利、也埋下隐忧,是一把双刃剑。
In the foreseeable future, when ___, ___ will be reshaped.(用将来时框住『可见的未来会发生的变化』)
To my mind, this shift will prove ___.(一句话把整体态度/立场抛出来)
再转折写隐忧:机器取代人手致大量失业、过度依赖削弱人的技能、引出伦理难题——正对 in industry as well as people's daily lives 两场景。
On the assembly line, ___; at home, ___.(用两个地点状语把两个场景并列铺开,各填具体画面)
Yet every coin has two sides. As ___, ___ may ___.(用固定转折句掉头,再引出负面后果)
I predict that ___ will become ___ rather than ___, provided ___.(用 predict+provided 把预测和条件一起收住)
If ___, this ___ will make life not ___, but ___.(用 not...but...
- 内容切题 预测+双场景一个都不能少 本题必须体现 imagine what will happen 的预测,且 in industry as well as people's daily lives 两场景都要落到,最易失分的就是只写工厂或只写家庭、或通篇描述现状。
- 语言准确 将来时+趋势词用准 本题应多用一般将来时和 more and more, increasingly, in the foreseeable future, take over 等表趋势的表达,且 take the place of / replace 等搭配要用对,别写成中式直译。
- 字数格式 卡死150至200的硬区间 本题要求 write at least 150 words but no more than 200 words,低于下限或超过上限都直接失分,务必写完数一遍卡进区间。
- 罗列种类当审题 反面示例:『There are many kinds of robots, such as industrial robots, service robots and medical robots.』——这只是罗列现状、没有预测。改为:『In the foreseeable future, service robots will take over most household chores, freeing families from daily errands.』
They make everything easy and our life becomes better and better.』——空洞且一边倒。改为:『Robots do make life easier; yet as they replace human hands, many workers may lose their jobs.』
- 空喊科技发达 反面示例:『Science and technology are developing very fast, so our society will become more and more advanced.』——泛泛空喊、没扣两场景。改为:『On the assembly line, robots will weld and package around the clock, while at home they will even care for the elderly.』
- 逐字直译取代 反面示例:『Robots will instead of human to do the work in factory.』——instead of 不能作谓语、搭配全错。改为:『Robots will take the place of humans and do much of the work in factories.』
