The saying "If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way" reminds us that true value lies not in the scale of what we do, but in the devotion and care we put into it. In my view, greatness is an attitude rather than a matter of size.
Consider an ordinary street cleaner who sweeps every corner spotless before dawn, or a rural teacher who spends decades patiently guiding children in a remote village. Neither builds an empire, yet by pouring perfection into humble tasks, they make an impact far beyond their modest positions. Their example shows that even the smallest job, done with heart, can shine. Had they despised such work as trivial, their potential would have been wasted.
Therefore, we should never look down on small things or wait passively for great opportunities. Even if we cannot change the world overnight, doing each ordinary task in an extraordinary way is itself a form of greatness worth pursuing.
首段用 "reminds us that true value lies not in the scale ... but in the devotion and care" 一句转述格言内核,避免逐字照抄;再用 "greatness is an attitude rather than a matter of size" 以 rather than 对照亮出立场,落实了「释义 + 亮立场」的功能。
主体段用 "Consider an ordinary street cleaner who ... or a rural teacher who ..." Neither builds an empire, yet by pouring perfection into humble tasks" 用 yet 完成让步转折;"Had they despised such work as trivial" 再以虚拟倒装从反面强化,论证既有正例又有反证。
结尾用 "Therefore, we should never look down on small things or wait passively" 收束并提醒读者;"Even if we cannot change the world overnight, doing each ordinary task in an extraordinary way is itself a form of greatness" 用 Even if 让步把主题拔高,与开头的立场首尾呼应。
本题核心任务是 commenting on the saying,格言是 If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way。
If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way
You can cite examples to illustrate your point of view 的要求。
If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way。
The saying "..." reminds us that ... rather than ...(先用 reminds us that 转述格言内核,再用 rather than 点出它真正强调的一面)
In my view, ... is ... rather than a matter of ...(用 In my view 直接表态,rather than 把对立面点出来,立场更鲜明)
You can cite examples to illustrate your point of view
Consider an ordinary ... who ..., or a ... who ...(用 Consider 引出具体人物,who 从句补充他所做的小事,两个例子并列增强说服力)
Neither ..., yet by ...ing ..., they make an impact far beyond ...(先用 Neither 退一步承认没做大事,再用 yet by doing 转到用心做小事的价值)
Had they ...ed ... as trivial, their ... would have been wasted(用 Had 引导的倒装虚拟从反面设想,强化「轻视小事就浪费潜能」)
If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way 的真义。
Therefore, we should never ... or ...(用 Therefore 收束全文,never ... or ...
Even if we cannot ..., doing ... in an extraordinary way is itself a form of greatness(用 Even if 让步,把「做小事」升华为一种伟大,呼应中心)
If you cannot do great things, do small things in a great way 换个说法重复一遍。
This saying means small things can be great. Small things done well are great. So we should do small things greatly." This saying reminds us that value comes from devotion, not scale. In my view, anyone who pours heart into humble work deserves to be called great, as the following example shows."
For example, Lei Feng is great because he did small good things." Consider a bus conductor who greets every passenger warmly and helps the elderly to their seats each day; such small acts, repeated with care, make ordinary work shine."
We do not need to do great things; doing small things is enough." Even when great deeds are beyond us, doing small things in an extraordinary way lets ordinary work carry great meaning."
Small things are important. Small things are really very important. We must know small things are important." Small things matter because they accumulate: a teacher's daily patience, over years, can reshape a child's whole future."
