Are Forgotten Crops the Future of Food?

On a small fruit farm near the Straits of Malacca, Lim Kok Ann is down to just one tree growing kedondong, a crunchy, sour berry that Malaysians mostly use in pickles(腌菜) and salads. "It's not very well-known," says the 45-year-old, who is instead focusing on longan(龙眼) berries and pineapples, which have bigger markets. "We have to grow what is profitable," he says.

But less than an hour away in the Malaysian countryside, inside three giant, silver domes, scientists are trying to change the future of food. They're pushing the boundaries of what humans eat by growing and processing so-called "alternative" crops—such as kedondong. At the headquarters of global research centre Crops For the Future (CFF) this particular under-used fruit has been turned into a sugar-free juice, high in vitamin C and getting top marks in sensory evaluations. "Anything you see here is a forgotten crop," says Sayed Azam-Ali of the abundant plants weaving through the gardens of CFF outside Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur.

Prof Azam-Ali explains that just four crops—wheat, maize, rice and soybean—provide two-thirds of the world's food supply. "We're dependent on these four," he says. "But actually there're 7,000 crops we've been farming for thousands of years. We ignore all of those." Researchers are trying to unlock the potential of these ignored crops—plants they describe as forgotten, under-used or "alternative" as they are displaced by increasingly uniform diets fuelled by processed ingredients from the major crops.

It's a timely quest. The food sector is already responsible for nearly a third of global greenhouse gas emissions. By 2050 it estimates the world must produce 50% more food to feed the projected global population of 10 billion. Meeting this demand without contributing to climate change calls for urgent solutions.

Forgotten crops hold key answers. By investing in neglected local plants, countries can reduce their reliance on imported crops and their carbon-heavy supply chains. Bringing back the variety of crops humans once ate also boosts food security at a time warming climates threaten existing crops. On top of that forgotten crops are among the most climate-resilient(具有气候韧性的) and nutritious, argues Azam-Ali. His summary is plain: "Dietary diversification is critical to the future of humanity."

Food security experts agree. "There is no food insecurity in the world, there is food ignorance," says Cecilia Tortajada, a senior research fellow at the Institute of Water Policy at the National University of Singapore. "Whenever we have native crops we tend to disregard them as if they were not valuable but they are," she adds.

Azam-Ali knows that scepticism firsthand. He came across alternative crops in the 1980s through the work of women farmers he met in Niger. The then-PhD student remembers marvelling at the crops they grew in their backyards, without the benefits of technology, to feed their families when the big crops failed. He saw a tremendous opportunity to build alternative food systems. But "the resistance was enormous," he recalls.

Undeterred, he ploughed on. Project after project helped prove these crops were viable in different environments as alternatives to the staple ones. But the question of whether these crops would be marketable remained. "That's the critical thing," he says. In one of the centre's domes, food technologist Tan Xinlin uses powdered moringa(辣木) leaves in place of some wheat flour to bake a cake lower in gluten(谷胶) and higher in nutrients. Tan's job is to create recipes with these still-unfamiliar ingredients that will appeal to both local and international tastes. In recent years she has used some of the forgotten crops grown at CFF, such as moringa and bambara groundnut, to make everything from instant soup to Indian snacks. "I try to modernise forgotten crops instead of using old recipes." says Tan, who is also a trained chef. It's a strategy to appeal to the world's growing middle classes who are increasingly turning to the fast and processed food industries. It's also a way to help counter perceptions of local crops as "old or poor people's food" or as inferior "women's crops", adds Tan.

The roots of these connotations about local foods can run deep. The bambara groundnut, a protein-rich native crop of sub-Saharan Africa that is also grown in parts of southeast Asia, can trace its marginalisation to colonial rule. "African women who grew bambara groundnut were actually punished for growing it," says Azam-Ali. "Colonial powers said you can't grow that because there's no oil. We can't get a market for it." But today the bambara murukku is one of CFF's best reviewed foods and they are aiming to get it into grocery stores, pointing to the success of crops like quinoa to potential investors. Some 30 years ago, quinoa was virtually unheard of outside its native mountains in Bolivia and Peru. Today the nutritious grain is found on the menus of lavish restaurants across the world.

Measuring crops by nutrition instead of yield is at the heart of the forgotten foods enterprise. Ever since the "green revolution" of the 1960s, high-yielding crops have dominated modern agriculture. That was in part a crucial response to devastating famines at a time when the world needed to increase its food supply. Today "nutrition is becoming a time bomb", says Azam-Ali, as growing carbon dioxide levels strip crops of their minerals. Instead of bio-fortifying major crops we should be investing in those forgotten crops that are already more nutritious, he asserts.

In the bowels of CFF's third dome, lab manager Gomathy Sethuraman opens a window into the centre's "crown jewels", revealing vines of winged beans growing under a bright yellow light. It's one of multiple chambers where scientists are studying the impact of higher temperatures and carbon dioxide levels on the nutritional make-up of alternative crops. This research is "the game changer", says Azam-Ali, ensuring that "future crops" are also the healthiest ones in warmer climates.

There is a growing global momentum around forgotten foods, says Danielle Nierenberg, president of Food Tank, a US-based think tank. Other than CFF, which bills itself as the world's first research centre dedicated solely to under-utilised crops, there are other key groups championing agricultural diversity including Crop Trust, Slow Food, Icrisat and Bioversity International. Add to that more middle-income consumers searching for nutritious foods and others eager to try the unprocessed foods their grandparents once ate, she says.

But the rising interest in forgotten foods in some quarters is overtaken by the global spread of Western-style diets heavy in sugar, fat and processed foods in others.

A key obstacle to promoting fading local crops in Malaysia, for example, is "the obsession with imported products", says Jenifer Kuah, co-founder of a restaurant that champions locally-sourced food in an affluent suburb of Kuala Lumpur. Customers at Sitka, regarded as a pioneer in the country's small farm-to-table dining scene, still seek foreign ingredients as a "status symbol", she says.

The argument for forgotten foods feels intuitive. Some analysts say it is in fact inevitable. "Climate change is going to mean almost certainly tastes are going to be forced to change," says Tim Lang, professor of food policy at City, University of London. We "have to get used to eating other crops" as yields of staple crops fall, he says.

详细阐述 forgotten crops 的 multiple benefits:reduce reliance on imported crops 和 carbon-heavy supply chains, boost food security,提供 climate resilience 和 superior nutrition。

Multiple expert voices 增强 credibility, while concepts like 'dietary diversification' 和 'food ignorance' 提供 memorable frameworks 来理解 issue。

这两段通过 protagonist's struggle narrative 增添 human dimension,让 readers 理解 promoting forgotten crops 不是 new idea 而是 decades-long battle against systemic resistance。

详述 CFF 如何 address marketability challenge:food technologist Tan Xinlin 用 forgotten crops 制作 modern products(moringa cake, instant soup, Indian snacks)来 'modernise' 而非用 old recipes, targeting growing middle classes 和 fast food industries,同时 counter 关于 local crops 是 'old/poor people's food' 或 'inferior women's crops' 的 negative perceptions。第9段 深挖 colonial roots of stigma,用 bambara groundnut 从被 punished 到 best reviewed food 的 transformation 作为 success precedent, parallel 到 quinoa 的 global journey。

这两段 address 前面提出的 marketability 这个 'critical thing',通过 Tan 的 concrete work 和 strategic thinking 展示 how forgotten crops can appeal to modern consumers。Colonial history 和 quinoa example 提供 deeper context 和 proof of concept,让 solution 显得 both culturally informed 和 practically achievable, strengthening readers' confidence in viability。

转向 nutrition dimension:强调应 measure crops by nutrition instead of yield,批判 green revolution 的 high-yielding crop dominance,指出 rising CO2 正在 strip crops of minerals,因此应 invest in naturally nutritious forgotten crops。

这两段 shift focus from market 到 nutrition science,提供 another compelling dimension for forgotten crops。通过 challenging established paradigm(yield vs. nutrition)和 showcasing advanced research(climate chambers studying nutritional resilience),文章 elevate 讨论 from practical marketing 到 scientific necessity,强化 forgotten crops 作为 future solution 的 多层次 rationale。

第14段 用 Malaysia restaurant owner 的 observation 具体化障碍:customers' 'obsession with imported products' 和 foreign ingredients 作为 'status symbol'。

这个 realistic assessment 增强 article 的 credibility, prevent 过度 optimistic narrative,同时 set up 最后的 inevitability argument。

Prof Tim Lang 提供 concluding perspective:argument for forgotten foods 'feels intuitive' 且被 some analysts 认为 'inevitable',因为 climate change 将 'almost certainly' force tastes to change,当 staple crop yields fall 时人们 'have to get used to eating other crops'。

这个 closing paragraph 用 authoritative expert 的 strong assertion 提供 powerful conclusion,将 forgotten foods 从 optional solution reframe 为 inevitable necessity。'Climate change' 作为 forcing mechanism 让 argument come full circle,回应 earlier urgency context,给 readers 留下 dietary transformation is coming 的 lasting impression。

MAIN IDEA ·

第四段明确列出 global challenges:food sector 占 one-third 的 greenhouse gas emissions,到 2050 需 produce 50% more food,同时要 avoid contributing to climate change。第五段紧接着提出 forgotten crops 作为 key answers,能 reduce reliance on imports、boost food security、并且具有 climate resilience 和 nutritional advantages。

文章用 multiple strategies 证明 forgotten crops 的 viability:第八段 Tan 的 food technology work 展示 practical applications(用 moringa 做 cake、创造 modern recipes),第九段 quinoa 的 success story 提供 precedent,第十一段 lab research 用 scientific rigor 确保 nutritional value。这些 evidence layers 不仅 support main thesis,更回应潜在 skepticism about marketability 和 scalability

第七段提到 Azam-Ali 遇到的'enormous resistance',第十三段指出 Western-style diets 的 global spread 正在 overtake interest in forgotten foods,第十四段 Kuah 提到 imported products obsession 作为 obstacle。

  6. 将前述 elements 整合后,文章主旨清晰浮现:scientists 和 researchers 正在 promote forgotten crops 作为应对 climate change、food security 和 nutrition 挑战的 solution,虽然目前 four crops dominate,但 diversifying with 7,000 neglected alternatives 能 reduce emissions、enhance resilience、improve nutrition,尽管存在 cultural perceptions 和 market barriers。这个 thesis 回答了 title question(forgotten crops 确实可能是 future),整合了 expert arguments(Azam-Ali、food security experts 的 views),体现了 solution value(reduce emissions 等 benefits),也承认了 obstacles(cultural、market challenges)

把 three strands of evidence weave together:从 morphology,我们得到'边缘化过程'这个 literal meaning;从 causal context,我们看到这是 colonial rule 导致的 negative process;从 discourse cohesion,我们理解这个 process 的 consequence 是 crops 被 perceived as inferior。因此,marginalisation 指的是某物被 pushed to the margins、被 devalued 和 neglected 的 systematic process。

    现在 synthesize our findings:从 contrast context,我们知道 despite enormous resistance,主人公还是 continued;从 morphology,un- 的 negation 暗示'没有被某种东西影响';从 collocation with 'ploughed on',我们确认这是一种 persistent attitude。

在 food science context,sensory 就是指通过 human senses(taste, smell, sight, texture)来 perceive and evaluate 的 characteristics。

综合 multiple evidence sources:从 syntactic structure with 'as if...not valuable',我们 capture 了 disregard 的 core semantic:treating something as lacking value;从 morphology,dis- + regard 给出'不重视'的 literal interpretation;从 lexical cohesion with 'ignore' in earlier paragraph,我们 confirm 这个 meaning。三个 angles converge on the same interpretation。

把 three analytical threads 整合:从 narrative logic, scepticism 是需要通过 evidence 来 overcome 的 obstacle;从 parallel structure with 'resistance',它是一种 negative response;从 morphology,-ism suffix 表示这是一种 attitude or belief。Combining these, scepticism 表达的是一种 doubting or questioning attitude,对某个 claim or proposal 不相信或持 reservations。

比如 Lim Kok Ann 说的 "We have to grow what is profitable",这个 quote 直接体现了 farmers 面临的 economic pressure,为后文 scientists 推广 forgotten crops 的困难做了铺垫。Professor Azam-Ali 的 "Dietary diversification is critical to the future of humanity" 这样的 statement 则用 expert voice 来强化文章的 central argument。

信号词 says adds explains argues recalls notes asserts points to

仿写: 写作时要识别 key stakeholders 并 capture their authentic voices。选择 quotes 时要确保它们能 advance your narrative 或 illuminate key points。 Many small farmers struggle with market access. 'We can't compete with imported goods,' says local grower Chen Wei, echoing concerns across the region."

    P3 P4

文章运用了 precise statistics 来 establish the scale and urgency 的问题。"Just four crops provide two-thirds of the world's food supply" 这个 data point 直接揭示了 current food system 的 vulnerability。"7,000 crops we've been farming" 形成 stark contrast,凸显被浪费的 potential。"Food sector responsible for nearly a third of global greenhouse gas emissions" 和 "must produce 50% more food by 2050 for 10 billion people" 这些 figures 则 quantify the challenge,让 abstract crisis 变成 concrete numbers。这些 statistics 不是 randomly scattered,而是 strategically placed 来 build the case for forgotten crops as a solution。

    信号词 just four two-thirds 7,000 nearly a third 50% more 10 billion by 2050 30 years ago

策略是 pair numbers with context:单独说 "7,000 crops" 不够有力,但对比 "just four crops vs. 7,000 crops" 就 creates impact。可以用 "nearly a third"、"two-thirds" 这样的 fractional expressions 让数字更 digestible。模版:[Current problematic situation in numbers] + "But/Yet" + [Alternative possibility in contrasting numbers] + [Implication]。 Currently 80% of urban water goes untreated. Yet studies show simple filtration could purify 95% at minimal cost, potentially serving 3 million residents."

    P1 P2 P11

文章开头用 vivid scene-setting 来 engage readers:"On a small fruit farm near the Straits of Malacca" 和 "inside three giant, silver domes" 这些 descriptive details 创造了 visual imagery。Paragraph 2 的 "abundant plants weaving through the gardens" 让 research center 显得 vibrant and hopeful。Paragraph 11 的 "revealing vines of winged beans growing under a bright yellow light" 用 sensory details 让 scientific work 变得 tangible。这些 objective descriptions 不带 overt judgment,但通过 carefully chosen details 来 shape reader perception,比如 "silver domes" 暗示 modernity and innovation,"weaving plants" 暗示 natural abundance。

仿写: 选择 details 时要 be selective:不是 list everything,而是 pick elements that serve your story。用 specific nouns and adjectives("silver domes" 而不是 "buildings","crunchy, sour berry" 而不是 "fruit")。Include sensory information(visual, tactile)但 avoid overwrought language。模版:[Location/setting phrase] + [Specific visual/sensory detail] + [What's happening/what's there] + [Transition to broader point]。 In a cramped laboratory lined with blue-lit aquariums, marine biologist Dr. Santos monitors coral fragments no bigger than a fingernail. These tiny specimens could hold keys to reef restoration."

    P9 P10

文章 strategically places historical context 来 deepen understanding。Paragraph 9 追溯 bambara groundnut 的 marginalization 到 colonial rule, revealing systemic barriers。"Some 30 years ago, quinoa was virtually unheard of" 提供了 success precedent, showing change is possible。Paragraph 10 的 "green revolution of the 1960s" 解释了 current system 的 historical roots。这些 background information 不是 tangential,而是 essential for understanding why forgotten crops are forgotten 以及 why change is both necessary and difficult。

信号词 can trace its marginalisation to 30 years ago since the 1960s at a time when today ever since

仿写: 提供 background 时要 connect past to present explicitly。使用 time markers("30 years ago", "since the 1960s", "can trace its... to")来 signal historical context。不要 dump all history in one paragraph;而是 distribute it where logically needed。模版:[Present situation/claim] + [Historical transition phrase] + [Relevant past event/period] + [How past explains present]。 Today's housing shortage has deep roots. Since the 2008 financial crisis, construction rates dropped by 60% and never recovered, leaving the city 50,000 units behind projected need."

    P1 P2 P3 P5 P8 P10 P13

文章巧妙运用 contrasts 来 highlight contradictions and opportunities。最 striking 的是 "just four crops" vs. "7,000 crops",instantly showing massive waste。Paragraph 1 中 farmer 专注于 profitable crops(longan, pineapples)而放弃 kedondong,与 Paragraph 2 中 scientists 努力推广这些 alternative crops 形成对比,presenting tension between economic reality and scientific vision。"Forgotten crops" 被描述为 simultaneously "under-used" yet "most climate-resilient and nutritious",这个 paradox 驱动整个 narrative。Paragraph 13-14 contrast growing interest in some quarters vs. Western-style diet spread, showing uneven progress。"Measuring by nutrition instead of yield" 对比了 two fundamentally different value systems。这些 contrasts 不只是 stylistic;它们 reveal systemic imbalances 并 make the case for change more compelling。

信号词 but yet instead while rather than vs. in contrast on the other hand however although

仿写: 构建 contrasts 时要确保 two elements being compared 在同一个 dimension(数量 vs. 数量,过去 vs. 现在)。使用 explicit contrast markers("but", "yet", "instead", "while")或 structural parallelism。最有力的 contrasts 通常 place contradictory elements in close proximity。模版:[Entity A with quantifier/descriptor] vs. [Entity B with contrasting quantifier/descriptor] + [Implication of the gap]。或 [Old approach/value] + "instead/rather than" + [New approach/value] + [Why it matters]。 The city invests millions in highway expansion while its public transit system, used by 60% of residents, faces a $200 million maintenance backlog."

Paragraph 4 提出 "how to meet demand without contributing to climate change" 这个 implicit question,然后 Paragraph 5 immediately answers with "Forgotten crops hold key answers"。Paragraph 8 提出 "whether these crops would be marketable" 作为 "the critical thing",然后展开 Tan's work 来 address this question。这种 raise-and-answer pattern 创造了 logical flow 并 keeps readers engaged。文章也通过 quoting others' skepticism("resistance was enormous")来 acknowledge counter-arguments,然后 systematically address them,这是 sophisticated questioning approach。

信号词 the question remained calls for the challenge is the issue is remains to be seen raises the question the critical thing

仿写: 可以 explicitly pose questions 然后 answer them,或者 use problem language that implies questions。Phrases like "the question is", "this raises the issue of", "the challenge remains" 都 function as implicit questions。确保 questions are answered 在 nearby paragraphs,否则 readers feel frustrated。模版:[Present problem/situation] + ["The question is/remains" or "This calls for/requires"] + [What needs to be solved] + [Next section provides answer/approach]。或 ["But" + skeptical voice/challenge] + [Evidence/explanation that addresses it]。 Renewable energy shows promise, but the question remains: can it meet peak demand? Recent grid data suggests yes, with proper storage systems."

IMPLIED MEANING ·

    P1
Lim Kok Ann is down to just one tree growing kedondong... who is instead focusing on longan berries and pineapples

对比与选择类 instead rather than instead of alternatively as an alternative

这种 implication 强调了 forgotten crops 面临的 real-world challenge,为后文 scientist 试图改变 future of food 的必要性铺平了道路。

    P3
But actually there're 7,000 crops... We ignore all of those.

    P7
marvelling at the crops they grew... without the benefits of technology

让步与条件类 without the benefits of without despite the lack of in the absence of even without

    P8
help counter perceptions of local crops as 'old or poor people's food' or as inferior 'women's crops'

社会心理映射类 perceptions of... as perception as regarded as labeled as stigma of connotations about

    P14
Customers... still seek foreign ingredients as a 'status symbol'

价值取向评价类 status symbol prestige fashionable obsession with social standing

AUTHOR ATTITUDE ·

通过 'timely quest'、'urgent solutions'、'critical to the future of humanity'、'nutrition is becoming a time bomb' 这些 expressions,作者在 building a sense of crisis,而 forgotten crops 被 positioned as 'key answers' 和 'game changer',这种 problem-solution structure 显示作者不只是 reporting,而是在 advocating

虽然作者 acknowledges obstacles 比如 'resistance was enormous'、'obsession with imported products'、但这些 barriers 被 presented as surmountable 或者作为 historical context 而不是 deal-breakers。通过 'Undeterred, he ploughed on' 和 quinoa success story, obstacles 反而成为了 narrative of perseverance,这 reinforces positive attitude

文章以 'The argument for forgotten foods feels intuitive' 和 'inevitable' 结尾,这个 strong closing statement 没有 hedge 或 qualification,而是用 'almost certainly' 和 'have to' 这样的 definitive language 来 conclude。

  6. 整体 article structure 从 concrete example 到 expert analysis 到 practical applications 再到 future outlook,这个 logical progression 本身就是在 building a case。作者不是 merely reporting,而是在 constructing an argument through careful selection of voices, evidence, and framing

  • critical to the future of humanity P5

这个 phrase 表达了 extreme importance 和 urgency,当作者引用 expert 说 dietary diversification 是 'critical to the future of humanity' 时,这不只是 reporting fact,而是在 elevate 这个 issue 到 existential level, showing strong support

同类词 critical to crucial to essential for vital to key to

  • the game changer P11

Azam-Ali 说这个 research 是 'the game changer',作者没有 distance 这个 statement 或提供 counterpoint,而是 present 它作为 authoritative assessment,这 shows author's alignment with 这个 optimistic view

同类词 game changer breakthrough revolutionary transformative turning point

  • hold key answers P5

这个 phrase 把 forgotten crops positioned as definitive solution。'Key answers' 意味着不只是 part of solution,而是 central solution。作者选择这种 strong affirmative language 而不是 'could potentially help' 或 'might contribute',这 demonstrates supportive stance

同类词 provide solutions offer the answer are the solution unlock potential pave the way

  • timely quest P4

'Timely' 这个 adjective 暗示了 appropriateness 和 necessity of timing。在描述 scientists' work 为 'timely quest' 时,作者在 frame 这个 endeavor as both important 和 well-timed,这是 positive framing 而非 neutral reporting

同类词 timely urgent pressing imperative crucial timing

  • Undeterred, he ploughed on P8

这个 phrase 展现了 admiration for persistence。'Undeterred' 和 'ploughed on' 都是 positive perseverance language,作者在 narrative 这个 personal story 时用 heroic language,这 reveals sympathetic 和 supportive attitude toward Azam-Ali 和他的 mission

同类词 undeterred persevered persisted pressed on forged ahead

  • growing global momentum P12

'Growing global momentum' 这个 phrase 描绘了一个 positive trend 和 expanding support。作者选择 present 这个 movement narrative 而不是 focus on skepticism 或 failures,这 shows 他想 convey 一个 optimistic trajectory

同类词 growing momentum increasing interest rising movement gaining traction building support

  • inevitable P15

这是 very strong position,超越了 possibility 或 preference,进入了 certainty 的 realm

同类词 certain bound to happen unavoidable inescapable destined

  • tremendous opportunity P7

当 Azam-Ali describe 他看到的 'tremendous opportunity',作者 present 这个 perspective without qualification 或 skeptical framing,这 indicates agreement with 这个 optimistic assessment

同类词 great potential enormous promise significant prospect remarkable chance vast possibility

第1段 立刻呈现 Lim Kok Ann 这个 specific individual 在 Straits of Malacca 附近的 fruit farm 种植 kedondong 的 concrete scenario,这种 immediate, tangible opening 是 news reporting 的 signature feature,而议论文会 start with abstract argument,说明文会 begin with definition or classification。

第2段 用 'But less than an hour away' 这个 spatial and contrastive transition 从 Lim 的 personal struggle 转到 CFF research centre 的 scientific efforts,这种 from micro to macro 的 narrative arc 是 news structure 的 hallmark,议论文会 maintain abstract argumentation throughout,说明文会 stay in explanatory mode without personal stories。

文章引用了 Prof Azam-Ali(第3段, 第5段)、Cecilia Tortajada(第6段)、Tan Xinlin(第8段)、Tim Lang(第15段)等 multiple experts with full titles,每个 quotation 都有 clear attribution,这种 multi-source structure 是 journalistic objectivity 的体现,议论文通常 single authorial voice dominates,说明文 rarely uses direct quotes with attribution。

第4段 提到 'By 2050' 的 population projection 和 'already responsible for' 的 current situation,第9段 对比 '30 years ago' 的 quinoa 和 'today' 的 global presence,这些 time-sensitive references 建立了 news peg(新闻由头),议论文 focuses on timeless principles,说明文 presents stable facts without temporal urgency。

  5. 这篇文章完美展现了 news reporting 的 four pillars:Lim Kok Ann 的 opening anecdote 提供 human interest anchor,从 individual farmer 到 CFF research centre 的 transition 展现 journalistic narrative structure, seven different experts 的 attributed quotes 建立 multi-perspective credibility, climate crisis 和 2050 population growth 的 temporal framing 创造 news urgency,这四个 elements 同时出现时基本可以 rule out 议论文(lacks concrete opening and multiple sources)和说明文(lacks narrative arc and temporal urgency)。
